Ascendant Lifts & Escalators pride ourselves on our rapid response at all times for all lift call outs or lift repairs, whether it’s a routine breakdown or a passenger entrapment.

When our engineers attend site for a call out, they are not only tasked with diagnosing the fault and returning the lift into service, but also with investigating the root cause of the problem. Often, it’s only the symptoms that are treated, which leaves room for the fault to occur again and again, costing you time and money.

As our highly qualified (minimum NVQ Level 3) and experienced lift engineers investigate the cause of the problem and deal with the underlying fault, it reduces the need for return visits and ultimately will save our clients time and money.

Due to the experience of our lift engineers, we are often able to diagnose and fix faults on the first visit, which coincides with our first-time fix policy.

Breaking News – New Lift Maintenance Agreement

Ascendant Lifts & Escalators are delighted to announce that we have secured a lift maintenance agreement with a further education establishment based Leeds.

Having completed a complex tender process, we are due to start providing our traditional lift maintenance to them from the 1st August 2022.

During the tender process, we not only provided the pricing for the number of lift maintenance visits they requested, but also a number of different options to allow them to choose the package that was most suited to the usage of the lifts on site.

Our willingness to work with the client and demonstrating how we have a flexible approach to the lift maintenance made us stand out from our competitors during the lift maintenance tender.

After discussing the needs and usage of all the individual lifts on site the client decided upon a bespoke maintenance agreement whereby we offered 2, 4 and 6 traditional lift maintenance visits per annum dependant on the age, usage and condition of the existing lift.

Our bespoke lift maintenance package will reduce the need for call outs and breakdowns, and maximising the up-time of the lifts on site.

They decided to choose Ascendant Lifts Ltd for a number of reasons, including;

Ascendant Lifts & Escalators – New Lift Maintenance Agreement Win!!

Ascendant Lifts & Escalators are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a prestigious lift maintenance agreement for a world renowned hotel brand at one of their new sites in Stockton on Tees.

The lift service agreement will see Ascendant Lifts & Escalators maintaining a number of traction MRL lifts on site alongside a specialist disabled platform lift.

We were awarded this lift maintenance agreement following a competitive tender process. Ascendant Lifts & Escalators scored highly in all areas – we weren’t the cheapest but the the most pleasing aspect of this contract win was the high score in safety and quality.

This is a key strength and belief within Ascendant Lifts & Escalators – we are constantly investing in safety and quality and put it at the heart of everything we do.

We were able to demonstrate to our new client that our engineers are highly competent and have the skill set to work on a wide variety of equipment, we were the ideal contractor to take on their portfolio.

In addition to this, we will provide our traditional lift maintenance service to the hotel which allows the engineers to spend longer on site, therefore reducing call outs and breakdowns on the equipment, and increasing the uptime of the units.

The first Blog of 2021 and it finds us again in Lockdown 3.0 but this time with light at the end of the tunnel in the way of the vaccine, I’m very excited to see what March brings and the doors being eased open to a real New Year. There is no doubt things have changed and our High street will never be the same as it was, as the armchair economy shines through with people moving to everything on line and being delivered straight from the screen to there doorstep. I can see the High street turning into a new young vibrant place and have no doubt it will come back and thrive.

With a lot of offices closed and the hospitality industry shut down and a lot of homeworking for the time being, the return to the workplace will see a lot of lifts that haven’t moved for extended periods but there is light at the end of the tunnel

Like a car a lifts left for long period will need a bit of TLC before they expected to run multiple times an hour, If you leave your car parked on the drive for weeks on end and expect it to start it is likely it will struggle. The tires might be flat, the battery ran out of charge the handbrake stuck on the brakes Seized  – so to prevent any issues you might go for a 15-minute drive in it every week or so.

The same principle applies for a lift. On a hydraulic lift, buffers compress and ropes stretch the ram can creep, buffers compress and oil becomes cold. On traction lifts it means ropes can flatten where the counterweight hasn’t moved . And on both drive types guide rollers can become damaged.

If at the beginning of lockdown you switched it off, then, unfortunately without checking the lift over you don’t know what breakdowns your going to walk into when you put it back in service
