Upcoming LOLER? We can provide assistance with LOLER inspections.
If you have a lift, there strict regulations for the safe use of any lift equipment. These regulations must be followed. Compliance means you stay within the law and your lifts run smoother.
One of these regulations, is that lifts must have LOLER inspections. LOLERs are often compared to MOTs for vehicles. Just like with MOTs, they are essential to ensure safety.
What Is The Purpose Of A LOLER Inspection?
LOLERS inspections must be done twice a year to passenger lifts (once a year for goods lifts). The purpose of these inspections is to ensure your lifts follow all necessary regulations and run safely. Also, it reduces the chance of lifts breaking down thanks to its proactive approach to safety.
LOLER inspections must be done to all lifts that see regular usage. In the event of you failing to get these inspections done, you could risk penalties. These penalties could affect you and your business and could involve hefty fines, jail or forced closure.
LOLERS have to be done via a qualified third party. Because of this, your lift company cannot do LOLERS, it must be through a suitable person or company. For this reason, we work in collaboration with a third party insurance company to ensure compliance. This third party company handles the LOLER work and we have worked with them for many years. In addition to this, we know they will do a great job and have done many LOLER inspections.
Upon completion of a LOLER inspection, the company responsible for the inspection must provide a written report. This report highlights compliance, findings and any recommended actions. In addition, they will notify you of any needed work, which we can then help with.
