Having a lift within your company is an excellent thing, as it can help staff and clients move from floor to floor. However, like all things they are subject to issues. A lift that is in working order will be fairly quiet as it traverses from floor to floor.
You may hear a quiet mechanical sound as it moves, but this isn’t a concern. If you hear anything that comes on suddenly or is loud, you should get in contact with your lift supplier.
If you believe something is off with your lift, they could well be, here is a little lift checklist of faults to pay attention to such as:
- Banging, grinding, screeching or other unusual sounds.
- If your lift is slower or not as efficient as normal.
- If your lift is unsteady or shaking.
- If your lift stops between floors or does not go to a certain floor.
- If your lift experiences leaks or corrosion
If any of the signs on this lift checklist ring true, you should get a lift maintenance visit booked ASAP. The longer you leave these problems, the more chance they have of causing a lift breakdown. There should be a matter of urgency with these issues, as not only are they not pleasant, they are dangerous.
