LOLER (The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) inspections are paramount in the lift industry. Your lifts need to be inspected regularly (this is separate from lift maintenance), failure to arrange LOLER visits can result in severe repercussions, such as unlimited fines, forced closure or even prison time.
These rules apply to any and all lifts that see regular use. Every 6 months, you need to have a LOLER inspection on your passenger lift (12 months for goods lifts).
Its important to note that LOLER inspections can only be done by a third party. Your lift company cannot do LOLER inspections but can help you out.
