๐ŸŒŸ Ascendant News: Celebrating Tom’s Outstanding Achievement and 5-Star Review from our Grateful Customer ๐ŸŒŸ

As most of you know, Ascendant Lifts & Escalators take immense pride in acknowledging the exceptional efforts and skills of our talented lift engineers. This week is no different! Our most recent superstar engineer is Tom, based out of the North West office. He received high praise and a glowing 5-star review from an appreciative customer, Linda, for his remarkable work in getting her 20-year-old step lift working again after it being in complete disarray and out of service for over a YEAR.

Linda, an elderly customer who had been let down by her previous contractor, was facing challenges due to her lift’s prolonged downtime. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards Tom for his dedicated service.

The lift, situated outdoors, had encountered multiple issues ranging from power problems to bolts worn down by weathering, rendering it inoperable.
After some troubleshooting, Tom finally got to the issue which was an issue with the fittings and fixtures which had began to rust inside the equipment – he replaced these and managed to get the lift back to perfect working order.

This week, she sent a letter of thanks included below:

“I just wanted to say thank you for sending the young man to mend my lift,” Linda shared in her review. “I thought it was going to be too old to repair, but heโ€™s done it, so Iโ€™m really impressed with his attitude and his work skills. He was very friendly and helpful and has done a good job getting it working again, so thank you and him, heโ€™s a credit to the company.”

In celebration of this well-deserved praise and outstanding customer feedback, we want to congratulate Tom for his exemplary performance. As the company moves forward, we remain confident that Tom and the rest of the team will continue to provide unparalleled service, making a positive difference in the lives of our valued customers.

If you think you have a lift that cant be fixed, or you’ve been let down by your current supplier, what are you waiting for? Even if its just for a price comparison for maintenance or repairs – its always worth a gander!

Ascendant News: Farewell to a Legend! ๐Ÿฆธ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Today is a very sad day for us at Ascendant as our wonderful coworker Yvonne Brown leaves the business. Yvonne has worked for Ascendant for a very long time, since 2003 to be precise and has never let us down in almost 20 years. She has always been extremely professional, hard-working and a team player to say the least. Yvonne has a brilliant mind and has always brought creative new ideas to the team.

Yvonne has not only been a fantastic colleague, but she has also been a true friend to many of us. She always took the time to ask how his/her fellow colleagues were, always had time to listen and talk to anybody with a problem and all this coupled with her great sense of humour.

I am sure you all agree she is a great loss to our company, but we were lucky to have the opportunity to work with Yvonne.

Yvonne, you have been an indispensable part of our team and the effort you put into your job is highly commendable. Youโ€™ve been a source of inspiration to all over the years and working with you has been an absolute honour.

We will all miss working with you and as you continue on your own personal journey, please know what a lasting effect you have had on all of us in some way or another over the years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have contributed to the success of the company.

This isnโ€™t goodbye as I am sure many of us will be keeping in touch with you as you have made so many friends here at Ascendant. One last thing, and most importantly is that we want you to know your Ascendant Family are always here for you – so donโ€™t be a stranger and pop into to the offices if you are ever passing or give any of us a call anytime.

Yvonne, YOU have made this company what it is today please always remember that!

Best regards from all at Ascendant ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป

Ascendant News: The Results are in! Ascendant raised a whopping ยฃ600 for Veterans In Crisis.

Those with a good memory may remember a few months back, at the end of May, when our news story centered around a fundraising walk, thought up and lead by our Managing Director Suzanne Lisle for Veterans In Crisis Sunderland (VICS). The walk consisted of our team of ladies who all took place on the 20k walk around the Northumberland Coast.

Our fantastic team, along with their generous families and friends rallied together to raise an impressive ยฃ600 during a charity walk. Suzanne is pictured below with Veterans Support Worker, Sam Neil and also Michael one of the Veterans volunteers.

The funds raised through the event will be utilized to provide crucial assistance and support to ex-service men, women, and their families, helping them navigate life after their military service.

We hope the walk will highlight the importance of offering ongoing support to ex-service personnel who face various challenges during their transition back to civilian life. They emphasized the need to address issues such as mental health, unemployment, housing, and reintegration, which can often prove overwhelming for veterans and their families.

Suzanne expressed her gratitude to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the charity walk. She stated, “We are proud to have played a role in supporting Veterans In Crisis Sunderland and raising awareness about the challenges faced by our veterans. The funds raised will go a long way in providing much-needed assistance and resources to those who have served our country selflessly.”

The support VICS offer includes mental health counseling, financial assistance, job training programs, housing support, team building activities and outreach initiatives tailored to the specific needs of veterans in the Sunderland area.

This successful charity walk organized by Ascendant has further strengthened our commitment to aiding veterans, and has cemented our reputation as a company deeply invested in the well-being of the community.

๐Ÿ“ฃ Ascendant News: Work Experience – Our Rising Star, Lucy!

This week we had the pleasure of being joined in the North East office by the wonderful Lucy Thomas, a determined and ambitious young student from a local school in North Tyneside.

She embarked on a educational week of work experience at our Head Office, and her journey this week has not only showcased her exceptional abilities – but also unveiled a bright future for her, if she ever wishes to enter into the world of lift engineering.

During her time at Ascendant, Lucy delved into various aspects of the lift industry, experiencing firsthand the complex mechanics and sophisticated technology that drives the equipment our engineers handle on a daily basis. Lucy tackled a range of assignments and gained invaluable insights into the day-to-day operations of the company, under the mentorship of our experienced employees and engineers.

Lucy’s passion for problem-solving and her interest for engineering quickly became evident as she immersed herself in the challenges posed by Ascendant Lifts. From understanding the fast paced environment of our service team, to learning about safety protocols and maintenance procedures, Lucy fearlessly embraced each new task with enthusiasm and determination.

Lucy has strong work ethic for such a young age, this, combined with her exceptional technical skills, made a lasting impression on the team, and it’s been an absolute pleasure having her on board this week.

Lucy expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work at Ascendant Lifts, stating, “This week has been an incredible learning experience. I am grateful to Ascendant Lifts for providing me with such an informative and insightful opportunity. It has definitely made me consider a future in this industry.”

Photographed below with our Managing Director Suzanne Lisle and Finance Director Lisa Scanlin, Lucy left the office after her final shift today with a thank you gift from all of us here at Ascendant, its goodbye for now – hopefully we’ll see her again very soon!

Ascendant News: Employee Spotlight

As you can see, we have another budding apprentice on the horizon! Our leading Lift Technician Phil McGowan has had his hands twice as full recently, after welcoming his adorable twins, Thomas and Erika, earlier this year.

As you can see, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree, and little Thomas is already out out on the tools with his Dad. Well – almost!!

Phil sent in this excellent photo this week of the pair representing the company, and it definitely deserves a LinkedIn post as it brightened our day so much!

We are hugely appreciative of each and every one of our engineers and technicians out in the field, but the continuous hard work which Phil puts in day in, day out – while juggling two new additions to his family hasn’t gone unnoticed this year – well done from all of us!

We thank you for your ongoing hard work and being such a valued member of the team, Phil. Hopefully we will be seeing Thomas in an Ascendant Lifts uniform in 20 years or so….๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜‰
